Monday mornings. Not always our favourite day of the week

Being self-employed and running my own business enables me to make a lot of choices in life. Deciding what I want to do, when I want to do it and ultimately control the way that my work and my life balance out.

Until I started my business again in August of last year, I wasn’t really a big fan of self-help material and all mumbo-jumbo that comes with the “Guru” lead industry. The Internet marketing world is full of wannabe gurus, and so say experts telling people how they can make lots of money online with quick push-button solutions to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams – and every place that I turned there were people promising the Earth and delivering nothing! I wasted so much of my own money and time.

Last year I picked up a book by Brendon Burchard – the Millionaire Messenger. It’s a book that teaches you how you can make a difference by sharing your advice, knowledge and skills to an audience that is hungry to know more about what you know. No easy solution to make money, it was going to be hard work.

After reading it, I opened the IM Elite Internet marketing mentoring program, which has helped a handful of people identify how they can productise their knowledge into online systems, membership sites, products and live events that can really serve people who are stuck in some way. I haven’t really promoted this or pushed it strongly, because I needed to shape this into a program that can really help a lot of people.

After attending the Experts Academy conference in California recently, run by Brendon, I came away with a renewed focus of exactly what I should be doing and how I should be doing it. If you didn’t read my blog post from last week click here to read it and find out exactly this shaped the direction I am now going in.

Whilst I was there was also fortunate enough to get a free signed copy of Brendan’s new book called The Charge. I had ordered my own copy through his website where he is still giving away hardback copies of his book for free, all you have to do is pay the postage. This new book is helped me to realise that there are many driving factors in my life that will help me to succeed as well as driving factors that will hinder me from succeeding.

After getting halfway through the book already, there are many things that I need to make sure that I’m doing in terms of making choices in my life and my business that will enable me to succeed. Tactically I have to implement strategies to enable me to think differently, act differently and realise that I can use my God given talents, skills and abilities to serve and help others around me.

As a sceptic of the self-help industry and someone who really avoided all of this kind of stuff, I can’t recommend his new book enough – and if you want your free copy then you just have to jump over to’s website and order one here.

As a Christian I believe that God has given me everything that I need to be able to walk the path that he is destined for me. And I know that in Him I can do all things because he gives me the strength to do them. Books like Brendan’s and others that give guidance and help in a tactical way to implement strategies for better business and better achievement, don’t draw me away from my beliefs but ultimately bring me closer to them to enable me to live how I’m supposed to be and do what I’m supposed to be doing.

If you feel like you’re stuck in any way and you just want to chat, then jump onto twitter, skype or ping me an e-mail. My promise to you is that I’ll help in any way that I can. If I can’t, then I’ll point you in the direction of somebody that I know who will be able to help. For now, I say, jump over and get your free copy of The Charge and maybe will catch up again sometime soon. Take care.
