Secure Your Social Media Real Estate

The one thing that I guess all people should now be thinking of when it comes to social media, is to secure their social media real estate.

There should be no reason why you should not be able to go onto Twitter and secure your username and set up an account, log into your Facebook account and find the Pages application to create a page for your business (Free instructions here) and even secure your own company names on Linkedin and YouTube.

If you haven’t done all these 4 – go and do it now.

You don’t have to start using them right away. What this will do is stop people from stealing you username and account name, then sitting on it so you can’t use it.

What is next though?

The next thing is to then find out how best to go about using it  - and the best thing for that is a training event. Try the next Social Media Guys event on the 14th September 2010 if you are in the Hungerford area of the UK. It is a FREE drop in to ask any question you would like on Social Media – come and grill us – I Dare You!

If you want to get moving even quicker than September, get in touch using the number at the top of the page and I will walk you through how I can help speed things up. I can also help with some 1:1 coaching on how best to get started. Even setting up custom pages in Facebook is a quick and simple job, just like ours from toinfinity (Click here to see our custom page).

I would rather empower you to do your thing in social media that do it all for you. That’s what social media should be all about.

Nice one Ant! I went along to the first Social Media Guys Event a couple of months ago and was delighted to discover that these guys really knew what they were talking about! Subsequently I saw Ant for some Social Media Roadmapping which was an extremely useful session – haven’t managed to implement everything yet, but I will! Great bunch of contacts if you want to learn more in this area.
